Becca Geddes - Music Go Round Founder
Hi, I'm Becca Geddes, a pre-school music teacher trained by the Pre-school Music Association and creator of Music Go Round. Our classes are all about having fun together with music and ensuring that your child's early musical experiences are creative and enjoyable. Having enjoyed a love of music since my own nursery days, I am passionate about providing a stimulating introduction to music for young children, in a playful environment, which they can relate to and learn from.
Siân Monahan MA (Oxon) ARCM (PG) PGCE
Head of Musical Development As a toddler, Siân showed great interest in the shiny pedals of the piano her mother played at home! 34 years later, she is now an accomplished musician with twenty years' experience of teaching music to children and adults of all ages.
Siân fostered a love of music throughout her school years including singing in choirs, playing the piano at Music Festivals and playing clarinet in bands and orchestras. She went on to read music at Oxford University and to study piano performance at the Royal College of Music. Siân then gained a Junior Fellowship post in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow , working with singers and instrumentalists. After completing a PGCE in Secondary Music at Bristol University , Siân taught for five years at Nansuch High School for Girls working as Head of Department in her last year.
Since becoming a mum herself in 2007, Siân has become passionate about passing on her love of music to our very youngest children and giving them the very best start in their musical lives. As part of reaching a wider audience she has joined the Music Go Round team, overseeing the development of the musical curriculum and bringing her technical expertise to ensure that our classes are of the highest musical quality. She also now enjoys watching her 10 month old daughter Elizabeth playing with the shiny pedals of her piano at home!
